Avatar Railay is built low against the limestone, in rendered terracotta and dark timber, around a pool that several of the rooms open straight onto. There are 48 rooms, suites and free-standing villas; every one has a six-foot daybed on the balcony. Rooms are quiet by design — the resort takes no guests under twelve.
